Snow-covered pastures, summits that seem close enough to touch and an all-embracing peace accompanies cross-country skiers through the Eisacktal winter landscape. It is hard to think of a finer combination of sport and nature. Trails for classic and skating styles can be found in the side valleys and the surrounding hills: the best-known is the “Höhenloipe” trail on the Villanderer Alm with its 35-km trail running all the way to the Rittner Horn.
