Known as the “fifth season” to the people of South Tyrol, for our guests this is the opportunity to partake of the most popular custom in the land: törggelen. This has its origins in the Eisacktal and can thus be enjoyed in its most original form in a Buschenschank (farmhouse inn) along the “Way of the Chestnuts” around Klausen, as well as at the Martscholerhof,www.martscholerhof.it our true native soil. From October to November, a gentle autumn stroll can be followed by a visit to a stube (inn parlour) to taste the “new” wine together with such delicacies as Schlutzkrapfen (pasta pockets), Geselchtes (smoked meat) with sauerkraut and roast chestnuts.
